Dear Gladys,
Have a wonderful birthday and take a break from the "thesis stuff." It will be waiting for you tomorrow!

This is my first blog, created after Sharon Keenan's encouragement, in a humble attempt to document my process of becoming a thesis writer.
Actually writing happens in moments that are richly equipped with tools (material and semiotic) and populated with others (past, present and future)... (writing) emerges as a confluence of many streams of activity: reading, talking, observing, acting, making, thinking, and feeling as well as transcribing words on paper.(Prior, 1998:xi, cited by Hyland 2002:31)

Thanks, Sharon! Believe it or not, the "child in me" needed to be told you understood my life involves more than thesis writing... not your fault at all!!!
You mean there is more to life than writing a thesis? Ummm, that's an interesting perspective....said "with tongue in cheek."
Well, now I know your birthday. But I don't know your email address. HELP. :)
